The so-called \(p\)-Laplacian neutral functional differential equation of the form \[ \left(\varphi_p(x^{\prime}(t)-c(t)x^{\prime}(t-r))\right)^\prime=f(x(t))x^{\prime}(t)+\beta(t)g(x(t-\tau(t)))+e(t) \] is considered. Here \(p>1, \varphi_p:\mathbb R\to\mathbb R\) is given by \(\varphi_p(s)=s|s|^{p-2}; f,g\in C(\mathbb R,\mathbb R); c(t), \beta(t), \tau(t), e(t)\) are all \(T\)-periodic real-valued functions with \(\int_0^T\beta(t)\,dt\neq0\), \(\int_0^T e(t)\,dt\neq0\); \(0\leq r\) is a constant. Several sufficient conditions for the existence of periodic solutions are given. They allow that the functions \(c(t)\) and \(\beta(t)\) can change sign.
