Let \(p\) be a prime number, the homotopy \(p\)-exponent of a space \(X\), denoted \(exp_{p}(X)\), is the largest \(e \in \mathbb{N}\) such that some homotopy group \(\pi_{i}(X)\) has an element of order \(p^{e}\). This paper concerns the homotopy \(p\)-exponent of the group \(SU(n)\). The author generalizes, for all odd primes \(p\), a result of \textit{D. M. Davis} [Integers 8, No. 1, Article A56, 25 p., (2008; Zbl 1232.11034)] using combinatorial number theory.
