The Fleming-Viot process has played an important role in developing infinite-dimensional stochastic analysis and its applications (especially in population genetics). The authors provide a countable representation for Fleming-Viot process as the evolution of an infinite collection of discrete individuals. The results are based on the existence of stationary distribution for a model with selection with respect to the stationary distribution for the corresponding neutral model. Further many interesting cases like sample path properties, ergodicity and the structure of moment measures are studied in terms of genealogy.
