Let F be a field of prime characteristic p, let G be a finite group, let Q be a normal p-subgroup of G, and let W be an indecomposable FG-module of the form \(W=eFG/eFGJ^ s_ 0\) where e is a primitive idempotent in FG, s a positive integer and \(J_ 0\) the radical of FQ. Moreover, let H be a subgroup of G containing Q, and let X denote the middle term of an Auslander-Reiten sequence terminating in W. The author shows that X is H- projective if and only if W/WJ is H-projective where J denotes the radical of FG. Furthermore, if W/WJ is not Q-projective then W/WJ and some indecomposable direct summand of X have a common vertex.
