The author studies the second order super-linear ordinary differential equation of the form \[ x{''} + p(t)|x|^{\gamma} \mathrm{sgn} x = 0. \leqno{(*)} \] Sufficient conditions for the existence of a slowly growing positive solution are given. By re-writing (\(*\)) as \[ x{''} + k t^{-\mu}(1 + \epsilon(t))|x|^{\gamma} \mathrm{sgn}x = 0, \] where \(\epsilon(t) \) is a continuous function on \([t_0, \infty), ~~t_0 > 0 \) such that \( 1 + \epsilon(t)> 0\) for \( t \geq t_0, \) and \(k\) is a positive constant and \(\mu \) is a real constant, the author proves the existence of slowly growing positive solution with asymptotic properties.
