The author begins with the remark that obtaining error estimates in the case of multiple Dirichlet-to-Neumann (DtN for short) boundary conditions is more difficult than in the case of a single DtN one. In order to solve the former problem he introduces an artificial boundary that surrounds all the obstacles and reduces the original exterior problem to one on a bounded domain enclosed by an artificial boundary. An auxiliary variable is defined on the respective artificial boundary. This variable along with the restriction of the solution of the original problem to the computational domain is a pair solution to a system of two linear equations. The well-posedness of the Helmholtz problem with multiple DtN boundary conditions, previously established by the author, is a fundamental analytical ingredient. Then, using a discrete finite element method formulation of the above system, the author obtains some a priori error estimates.
