By using explicit properties of polynomials, \textit{D. J. Newman} and \textit{T. J. Rivlin} [ibid. 93, 407-413 (1981; Zbl 0502.41001)] were able to show a 1-1 correspondence between weights and nodes of the nth order divided difference of nth degree polynomials. See also the reference there to Karlin's works. In the present paper the authors use the differential equation approach to extend these results to extended complete Chebyshev systems especially the Cauchy and exponential kernel.
