This paper studies the link between smooth symplectic resolutions and symplectic deformations of affine Poisson varieties. Let \(V\) be a finite-dimensional complex symplectic vector space and \(G\) a finite subgroup of \(Sp(V)\). The quotient \(V/G\) has a natural structure of an irreducible affine algebraic variety and a Poisson structure. The main result of the paper says that the so-called Calogero-Moser deformation of the orbifold \(V/G\) is a versal Poisson deformation. This enables the authors to describe the algebra structure on the cohomology of any smooth symplectic resolution \(X-V/G\). Finally, this description leads to an interesting question of computing the Poincaré duality isomorphism for \(X\) in terms of the group \(G\).
