Let R be a regular right self-injective ring. The paper's main result is the following property of the lattice L(R) of right ideals: for \(I,J\in L(R),\) I and J are isomorphic as right R-modules if and only if one can write \(I=I_ 1\oplus I_ 2,\quad J=J_ 1\oplus J_ 2,\) where \(I_ i\), \(J_ i\) are in L(R) and \(I_ i\), \(J_ i\) are similar for \(i=1,2\). Analogous results are obtained for certain Baer rings.
