Consider differential equations of the form (1) \(dx/dt=D(t,x)+F(t,x)\) where \(D: \mathbb{R} \times \mathbb{R}^m_+ \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^m\) is positive homogeneous in \(x\) and \(F\) satisfies \(F(t,x)=(x_1 f_1 (t,x_1), \dots ,x_m f_m (t,x_m))\). The authors study positive homogeneous and strictly increasing maps \(T: \mathbb{R}^m_+ \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^m_+\) and apply the obtained results to cooperative and irreducible periodic systems \(dx/dt=D(t,x)\). Furthermore, they investigate extinction and coexistence in systems of type (1).
