If X is a locally compact ANR, we say that X satisfies Property \((DCC)_ n\) for some \(n\geq 2\) provided that for open pairs (Ui, Vi) in X and homology elements \(z_ i\in Hq_{(i)}(Ui,Vi)\), \(1\leq i\leq n\), there are compact pairs \((C_ i,\partial C_ i)\subset (U_ i,V_ i)\) with \(z_ i\in Im\) \(\{i_*: \check Hq_{(i)}(C_ i,\partial C_ i)\to Hq_{(i)}(Ui,Vi)\}\) such that \(C_ i\cap...\cap C_ n=\emptyset\). This homological property captures the infinite dimensionality of the ANR. The authors following the methods introduced by Edwards (1977) and a result of Daverman and Walsh (1981) prove the following result: Let X be a locally compact ANR satisfying Property \((DCC)_ n\) for some \(n\geq 2\). Then: (a) \(X\times I^ 2\) is a Hilbert cube manifold; and (b) X is a Hilbert cube manifold provided that X satisfies the Disjoint Disks Property.
