Let \(A_i\) be a sequence of finite, non-trivial Abelian groups, and consider the inverse limit of the iterated wreath product \(W\) of these groups, where each wreath product is taken with respect to the regular permutation representation. Such profinite groups are groups of automorphisms of spherically homogeneous rooted trees. Using this language, a formula for the topological rank of \(W\) is obtained, and an explicit minimal generating set is exhibited when \(A_1\) is cyclic.
