    The author first gives an asymptotic formula (for \(q\to\infty)\) of the sum \[ \sum^q_{\substack{ a_1,\dots,a_{n+1}=1\\ a_1\dots a_{n+1} \equiv c\pmod q}}(a_1a_2 \dots a_n-a_{n+1})^m. \] The special case \(n=1\), \(m=2\) has been studied by \textit{W. Zhang} [J. Number Theory 52, No.~1, 1--6 (1995; Zbl 0826.11002) and Sci. China, Ser. A 46, 229--338 (2003)]. Secondly he estimates the discrepancy of the point set \[ \left\{\left(\frac {a_1}{q},\dots,\frac{a_{n+1}}{q}\right):1\leq a_1,\dots,a_{n+1}\leq q,\;a_1\dots a_{n+1}\equiv c\pmod q\right\}, \quad (c,q)=1 \] by \(q^{-1+0 (1)}\) if \(n\geq 3\), and \(q^{-1/2+0(1)}\) if \(n=2\). His arguments are elementary.
