In this article, the non-existence of square-integrable nonzero solutions satisfying the Helmholtz equation in an axisymmetric conical domain with vertex angle greater than \(\pi\) is proven by the authors. This new result implies that there cannot be eigenvalues embedded in the essential spectrum of a large class of partial differential operators coinciding with the Laplacian in the conical domain.
