A Painlevé II model in two-ion electrodiffusion with radiation boundary conditions (Q2510791): Difference between revisions

This paper deals with a class of nonlinear second-order differential equations with mixed boundary condition. The problem is in relationship with the Painlevé model, which arises in the mathematical analysis of the two-ion electrodiffusion model. The main results establish sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions. The proofs combine variational arguments with the linking theorem of Paul Rabinowitz. Numerical experiments based on the shooting method illustrate the abstract results of this paper.
