The author considers the population dynamics of a continuously fed chemical reactor in which a biological organism promotes the chemical reaction. (The underlying model is that due to McKendrick.) An analytic procedure is described to determine the parameters which lead to limit cycle oscillations for the population of the organism. The general case, subject to relatively minor restrictions, is considered first and then a particular example is given to illustrate the method suggested.
