The authors investigate the title problem considering the van der Waals interaction and using the continuum mechanics. Some results are compared with existing ones for the static torsional buckling of an embedded double-carbon nanotube. They examine also the effects of van der Waals forces and the radius of the tube on the critical buckling load.
