The author studies the existence of directional derivatives of functions in the Sobolev Spaces \(L^ p\!_ k({\mathbb{R}}^ n)\). The novelty consists in calculating them through lacunary incremental quotients. Under these conditions, the author proves that no restrictions on p are necessary. The condition \(p>n/k\), \(p\geq 1\), \(k\geq 1\) can be dropped.
