The authors correct the statement of their main theorem after the remark by Aluffi that it was false in the initially stated generality. The new assumption is that the result applies to hypersurfaces of projective complex manifolds, which means that the ambient space cannot be any smooth complex variety. The new assumption allows the application of Piene's formalism and results in the projective space. The second correction concerns the definition of the ``global Lê cycles''. The authors use more carefully the framework of \textit{J. Schürmann} and the reviewer [Tohoku Math. J. (2) 62, No. 1, 29--44 (2010; Zbl 1187.14013)] and remark that their global Lê cycles are actually the compactification of the global affine MacPherson cycles introduced by Schürmann and Tibăr in [loc. cit.].
