Transient temperatures and heat fluxes at interior points for the two-dimensional inverse heat conduction problem (IHCP) with a bounded rectangular space domain are recovered when the temperature and heat flux functions are measured approximately at one boundary side. The used mollification method is combined with a singular perturbation regularization technique which essentially improves the stability of the mollification algorithm. The method is implemented as a space-marching-fully-explicit finite difference scheme.
