In this paper, the authors introduce a pseudohomogeneous model to express a convection driven exothermic reaction in the case of a constant heat source. Then, by using the optimal homotopy asymptotic method (OHAM), the solutions of the exothermic reaction equation are computed. In fact, the OHAM gives fourth order accurate solutions. By this method, the authors are able to control the convergence of the solutions via a particular convergence control function. Finally, they claim the solution of the OHAM to be easier to implement than the finite difference solutions.
