The aim of the paper is to rigorously analyze the asymptotic properties of random repeated interaction of quantum systems. The motivation for this study is a cavity containing the quantized electromagnetic field, with a hitting atom beam which works in such a manner that only a single atom is present in the cavity at any time. One considers a quantum system interacting sequentially with independent systems which themselves are in random state. Loosely speaking, since we are in the framework of quantum mechanics, the state of the quantum system is affected by each interaction (observation) therefore the serial problem. The basic results so stated are related to the ergodic limit of infinite operator products, the second law of thermodynamics, random spin-spin systems, random spin-fermion systems. The main mathematical tool so involved is matrix products.
