In the paper under review, the authors consider the linear elliptic equation \[ -\nabla \cdot (\mathbf{a}(x)\nabla u) = 0\, , \] in a bounded open subset of \(\mathbb{R}^d\), where the coefficient \(\mathbf{a}(\cdot)\) is a random field valued in the set of \(d \times d\) matrices with eigenvalues in a given interval \([1,\Lambda]\), for some fixed \(\Lambda \geq 1\). The aim of the paper is to provide quantitative information on the statistical properties of the solution of the equation above. The authors obtain quantitative results by a new method involving higher order regularity theory for the solutions valid on mesoscopic scales, rather than concentration inequalities. As an application, they provide estimates on the sublinearity of the correctors and the weak convergence of their rescaled gradients.
