This paper considers the following cross-diffusion system: \[ \begin{cases} u_t=\nabla \cdot (D(u)\nabla u) -\nabla \cdot(u S(x,u,v)\cdot \nabla v), & x \in \Omega, \, t>0,\\ v_t= \Delta v - uv, & x \in \Omega, \, t>0,\\ (D(u)\nabla u- u S(x,u,v)\cdot \nabla v)\cdot\nu=0, \nabla v \cdot\nu=0, & x \in \partial \Omega, \, t>0, \\ u(x,0)= u_0(x), \quad v(x,0)= v_0(x), & x \in \Omega, \end{cases} \] in a bounded domain \(\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^n\), \(n\geq2\), with smooth boundary. The main contribution of this paper is to identify a global bounded weak solution to a corresponding no-flux type initial-boundary value problem with suitably regular initial data which satisfy some conditions: \[ D \in C^2([0, \infty))\cap C^2((0,\infty)) \text{ is positive on }(0, \infty), \] and \[ D(u) \geq k_{D} u^{m-1}, \text{ for all }u \geq 0, \] with some \(k_{D}>0\) and \[ m> \frac{3n-2}{2n}, \] and \[ S \in C^2(\bar{\Omega}\times [0,\infty) \times (0,\infty); \mathbb{R}^{n \times n}), \text{ such that }|S(x,u,v)| \leq \frac{S_0(v)}{v^\alpha}, \] for all \((x,u,v)\in \Omega \times (0,\infty)^2\), \(S_0: (0,\infty)\rightarrow (0, \infty)\), and \(\alpha \in [0,1)\).
