Given a rational function \(f\) of degree \(d\ge2\), the ``non-wandering domain theorem'' by \textit{D. Sullivan} [Ann. Math. (2) 122, 401--418 (1985; Zbl 0589.30022)] states that all its Fatou components are eventually periodic. Recently, in [\textit{M. Astorg} et al., Ann. Math. (2) 184, No. 1, 263--313 (2016; Zbl 1368.37055)] it was shown that this is not the case in higher dimensions, and there exist polynomial endomorphisms of \(\mathbb{C}^2\) with wandering Fatou components. In this paper, the authors construct a one-parameter family of polynomial automorphisms of \(\mathbb{C}^4\) having wandering Fatou components. Such family depends on a complex non-zero parameter \(\delta\), and, when \(\delta\) tends to \(0\) it degenerates to the two-dimensional polynomial endomorphism \(P\) constructed in [\textit{M. Astorg} et al., Ann. Math. (2) 184, No. 1, 263--313 (2016; Zbl 1368.37055)]. The main result of this paper states that, for \(\delta\) sufficiently small, if \(P\) has a wandering domain, then the four-dimensional polynomial automorphism does as well.
