The paper proposes an process model of analogical reasoning and uses the model for a broad comparative review of computational studies of analogy. Task domains of this studies are automated deduction, problem solving and planning, natural language comprehension, and machine learning. A comparative analysis identifies recurrent problems and their proposed solutions.
