This paper is concerned with a fluid-structure problem, which is modelled by the 2D Navier-Stokes equations for an incompressible fluid together with an elastic structure, modeled by the shell or plate equations; the fluid and structure are coupled via the Navier slip boundary condition and balance of contact forces at the fluid-structure interface. An existence proof for a weak solution is provided based on compactness arguments and on interpolation of the classical Sobolev spaces with real exponents. The work may be interesting to someone looking for weak solutions to the moving boundary problems. | |||
