The authors introduce a notion of scaled topological and metric entropies which essentially consist in considering asymptotic rates of the form \(\exp(-sa(n))\) in the definition, where \(a(n)\) is an arbitrary monotonically increasing sequence. The classical definitions of entropies are recovered with \(a(n)=n\). The main motivation to introduce such objects is to obtain more information about the complexity of systems with zero or infinite entropy. Besides the topological entropy, introduced in the sense of the Charathéodory-Pesin theory, it is defined a scaled local measure-theoretic entropy. Several examples of dynamical systems which have zero entropy are presented. For some of these examples, the Brin-Katok theorem is not valid.
