    The authors study the isochronicity of centers of real polynomial systems \[ \dot x= -y+A(x,y), \quad \dot y= x+B(x,y), \] which can be reduced to a Liénard type equation. The study is based on the so-called \(C\)-algorithm, which is a generalization of Urabe's method proposed in [\textit{A. R. Chouikha}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 331, No.~1, 358--376 (2007; Zbl 1125.34020)]. Using this approach, the authors obtain conditions of isochronicity for the family \[ \dot x=-y +a x^{n-1} y, \quad \dot y= x+b x^{n-2} y^2 +c x^n \] and for certain families of linear centers perturbed by polynomials of degree 4 and 5. They also discuss the isochronicity of the Abel system \[ \dot x=-y, \quad \dot y=\sum_{k}^n P_{k} (x) y^k, \] where \(P_k\) are smooth functions.
