Let $W$ be a rank $n$ irreducible finite reflection group, $x\in\mathbb{R}^n$ and $f(x)$ be a $W$-invariant polynomial function i.e. $f(gx)=f(x)$, $\forall g\in W, x\in \mathbb{R}^n $. Then there exist $n$ basic $W$-invariant polynomials $p_1(x),\ldots, p_n(x)$ such that all $W$-invariant polynomial functions can be written as polynomial functions of the polynomials $p_i(x)$: $f(x)=\widehat{f}(p_1(x),\ldots,p_n(x))$, with $\widehat{f}(p_1,\ldots,p_n)=\widehat{f}(p)$ a polynomial of $p\in \mathbb{R}^n$. In this paper, the author show that the polynomials $p_i(x)$ ($2\leq i\leq n$) may be chosen in such a way that they satisfy a certain system of differential equations. Bases of this kind are said to be canonical. Also, explicit formulas for canonical bases of invariant polynomials for the irreducible reflection groups of types $E_6$, $E_7$ and $E_8$ are given.
