\textit{J. Diestel} and \textit{J. J. Uhl, jun.} announced in their book ``Vector Measures'' (1977; Zbl 0369.46039) a result of B. Johnson that every dual Banach space with RNP has the separable complementation property (i.e. every separable subspace is contained in a complementable separable subspace). The authors present a construction of a Banach space enjoying the RNP but without the separable complementation property. The space has density character \(\omega_1\), possesses a strong Markuševič basis but no norming Markuševič basis.
