    The problem considered is \[ \vec u_t= D\vec u_{xx}+ \vec f(\vec u),\quad x\in\mathbb{R},\quad \vec u(0,x)\geq 0 \] with \(\vec u=(u,v)\), \(\vec f(\vec u)= (f(u,v),g(u,v))\), where \(f(u,v)= (1- u-cv)u\), \(g(u,v)= (a- bu-v)v\) and \(D=\text{diag}(1,d)\). The author proves the instability of a certain class of stationary solutions.
