The authors study an axiomatic scheme for interacting quantum fields in de Sitter space-time, which was already outlined in [J. Bros and U. Moschella, Rev. Math. Phys. 8, No. 3, 327--391 (1996; Zbl 0858.53054)], where similar questions were discussed for generalized free fields. It follows mainly the Wightman approach on Minkowski space; however, the (unavailable in de Sitter space) spectrum condition is replaced by analyticity properties of the \(n\)-point functions (''weak spectral condition'') which are in Minkowski space equivalent to the spectrum condition. It is shown that an observer in free fall will detect in the ''vacuum'' of such a theory a thermal radiation of temperature \(T=1/2 \pi R\), where \(R\) denotes the characteristic length scale of the de Sitter space. In addition, analogs of the Reeh-Schlieder, PCT and Bisognano-Wichmann theorems are proved.
