Let \((E,h)\) be a holomorphic vector bundle on a complex manifold \(X\). By means of descent equations in the double complex of \((p,q)\)-forms the author computes the Chern-Simons forms associated to the Chern forms. A linear algebra procedure appearing in the decomposition of positive definite matrices into a product of a lower triangular matrix times its adjoint (known as Cholesky 's algorithm) is used in ascending degree mode for analyzing the construction of the Chern forms from the Chern-Simons data. Explicit computations are carried out for forms of low bi-degree.
