Given a double cover of a smooth \(4\)-manifold, one may define a local coefficient system and a twisted intersection form. In this paper, Nakamura establishes restrictions on these twisted twisted intersection forms via a \(\text{Pin}(2)\) version of the Seiberg-Witten equations. The results are used to establish the existence of nonsmoothable spin \(4\)-manifolds satisfying Rochlin's theorem and Furuta's \(10/8\)ths theorem.
