Quantum Mechanics, Relativity Theories in Theoretical Physics and the various connected developments have of late become really quite active and interesting areas of serious research. A number of new results in the micro, medium and macro levels can be cited to show how important it is to go deeper into even the existing areas. The authors of the 48-page present paper have initiated a study of the spherically symmetric Einstein-Klein-Gordon system in the presence of a negative cosmological constant, which is a rather successful model appearing often in the context of studies in the most fascinating area of high energy physics. The dynamics is formulated with boundary conditions. A local well-posedness statement is given whose proof requires introduction of a renormalized system of equations. The results of the current work would provide, as claimed, the basis for a companion paper establishing the global asymptotic stability of Schwarzschild-anti-de-Sitter within the indicated said systems. The paper of eight main sections starts with a detailed introduction with eight subsections. In the second section, the reduced spherically symmetric Einstein scalar field equation in double-null coordinates is introduced. Next, a class of initial data for which the main result will apply is defined and constructed. In Section 4, the main theorem is stated. In the following part a renormalization of the new system is introduced. Defining the associated function spaces, a local-well posedness result is stated for it and Section 6 is devoted to the proof thereof. Key estimates furnished help to conclude, in Section 7, the proof of the main theorem. The last portion of the paper consists of stating the consequences of the main result. In particular, the existence of a maximum solution and two extension principles including one in the Appendix, are examined and treated well. The somewhat long, descriptive paper has a relatively small (18) number of references. There are definitions, remarks, corollaries, lemmas (10), 5 figures and 6 propositions. On the whole, we see here an all-out attempt to study some extremely valuable questions confronted while investigating Nature.
