This work studies the Calabi-Yau algebras arising as the fundamental group algebras of acyclic manifolds. The author starts with the needed recalls about Calabi-Yau algebras and topological notions. Then he proves that superpotential algebras are exact Calabi-Yau and that fundamental group algebras of hyperbolic manifolds are not quasi-isomorphic to superpotential algebras. Some homological properties of the fundamental group algebras of acyclic manifolds are also obtained. The case of hyperbolic manifolds is considered and the Donaldson-Thomas theory is discussed. Finally, some links with topological field theory are etablished.
