The authors introduce and study the rings of Gorenstein homological dimension less than or equal to 1. A commutative ring \(R\) is called \textit{Gorenstein hereditary} if every submodule of a projective module is Gorenstein projective (i.e., \(\text{Ggldim}(R)\leq 1\)). Also \(R\) is called \textit{Gorenstein semihereditary} if it is coherent and every submodule of a flat module is Gorenstein flat (i.e., \(R\) is coherent and \(\text{wGgldim}(R)\leq 1\)). These classes of rings are the Gorenstein analogue of classical ones. Then the authors study more special cases of these rings which they call, respectively, \textit{strongly Gorenstein hereditary and semi hereditary rings}, in terms of strongly Gorenstein projective and flat modules.
