This paper gives the definition of a Poisson bracket on exact multisymplectic manifolds. Multisymplectic geometry provides a mathematical framework to formulate classical field theory geometrically. In this paper, the authors show however that there is a need to have a Poisson bracket operation in this context. After some relevant recalls, the authors construct a general Poisson bracket for exact symplectic manifolds. With this structure, it is also possible to algebraically investigate symmetric transformations. Moreover, the construction do not depend on the particular structure of the exact multisymplectic manifold. So the bracket operation can be generalized to forms of arbitrary degree. Interesting examples are finally discussed.
