For a compact Lie group \(G\) acting on a topological manifold \(M\) let \(\mathcal H_G(M)\) be the group of equivariant homeomorphisms isotopic to the identity through compactly supported equivariant isotopies. The main result in the paper under review shows that if \(G\) acts freely and dim\((M/G)\geq 1\) then \(\mathcal H_G(M)\) is a perfect group. It follows that when \(M\) is a \(G\)-manifold with one orbit type then again \(\mathcal H_G(M)\) is perfect.
