The infinite-dimensional simplex is defined as the closure of the convex hull of the basis vectors in \(\mathbb{R}^\infty\). In the paper under review a constructive proof that this space has the ``fixed point property'', i.e. every continuous function from the infinite-dimensional closed simplex into itself has a fixed point, is presented. This theorem is a consequence of Tychonoff's fixed point theorem for locally convex spaces, but the proof presented is constructive and provides also a method for producing approximate fixed points for functions on the infinite-dimensional simplex. Moreover, this is also another method of proof of the Schauder fixed point theorem for normed spaces.
