This paper adds to the literature on finding minimal representations of certain Lie algebras. The algebras in this case are the ones of dimension from five to eight with non trivial Levi factor as found by \textit{P. Turkowski} [J. Math. Phys. 29, No. 10, 2139--2144 (1988; Zbl 0664.17004)]. Key to the work is the use of the invariant subspaces coming from the representations of the Levi factor.
