In 1984, \textit{P. Cherrier} [J. Funct. Anal. 57, 154--206 (1984; Zbl 0552.58032)] and \textit{J. F. Escobar} [Ann. Math. (2) 136, No. 1, 1--50 (1992; Zbl 0766.53033)] asked whether the following generalization of Riemann mapping theorem holds for Riemannian manifolds: Is it true that every \(n\)-dimensional, \(n\geq 3\), compact Riemannian manifold with boundary carries a conformal scalar flat Riemannian metric with constant mean curvature on the boundary? For most of the cases an affirmative answer was given. The authors prove the remaining cases of the Riemann mapping theorem of Cherrier and Escobar.
