In a previous paper [Lett. Math. Phys. 38, 33-51 (1996; Zbl 0867.17010)] the authors derived a quantum Virasoro algebra whose singular vectors are some kinds of Macdonald polynomials. As a generalization they present in this paper a quantum \(W_N\) algebra whose singular vectors realize the general Macdonald polynomials.
