The authors continue their study of primitive cohomologies introduced in Part I [ibid. 91, No. 3, 383--416 (2012; Zbl 1275.53079)]. These cohomologies are here explained in analogy with the complex case using a natural decomposition of the exterior derivative operator into two linear differential operators similar to Dolbeault operators from the complex case. These primitive cohomologies are finite and for symplectic nilmanifolds, their dimensions depend on the class of the symplectic form.
