A map \(f:X\to Y\) between topological spaces is skeletal if, for each nowhere dense subset \(A\) of \(Y\), \(f^{-1}(A)\) is nowhere dense in \(X\). If \(X\) and \(Y\) are realcompact, any continuous map \(f:X\to Y\) can be realized as the limit of a morphism between \(\omega\)-spectra representing \(X\) and \(Y\). The authors characterize the skeletability of the map \(f\) in terms of the morphism of \(\omega\)-spectra having \(f\) for limit.
