In this interesting paper, the authors introduce an approach to study homogenization of random ordinary differential equations based on the theory of rough paths. They apply their method to prove a (generalized version of) a seminal result of \textit{H. Kesten} and \textit{G. C. Papanicolaou} [Commun. Math. Phys. 65, 97--128 (1979; Zbl 0399.60049); ibid. 78, 19--63 (1980; Zbl 0454.60007)] concerning stochastic turbulence.
