This article presents a new proof that the distribution trace \(\mathrm{Tr}U(t)\), where \(U(t)=e^{-itH}\) is the propagator of the harmonic oscillator \(H_0=\frac{1}{2}(-\Delta+|x|^2)\), has singularities at the same points (\(t\in 2\pi\mathbb{Z}\)) as the perturbed operator, \(H=H_0+P\), where \(P\) is a classical isotropic pseudodifferential operator of order \(1\) [the first author et al., Commun. Math. Phys. 362, No. 1, 269--294 (2018; Zbl 1396.58024)]. Additionally, the authors express the singularity coefficients at times \(t=2\pi k\).
