\textit{E. Thoma} classified in [Math. Z. 85, 40--61 (1964; Zbl 0192.12402)] the indecomposable characters of finitary symmetric groups (FIN). Later on, \textit{A. M. Vershik} obtained in [Mosc. Math. J. 12, No. 1, 193--212 (2012; Zbl 1294.37004)] a classification of ergodic invariant random subgroups of FIN in the case of \(\mathbb{N}\). The present paper describes the precise relationship between the indecomposable characters of FIN and its ergodic invariant random subgroups for the latter case.
