    The author proves the following result: Let \(n\) and \(s\) be integers, with \(s\) even and \(n>3s\). If \(n\not\equiv \pm 1 \bmod 8\), then \[ f(X)=X^n+X^{n-s}+X^{n-2s}+X^{n-3s}+1\in \mathbb{F}_2[X] \] and its reciprocal \[g(X)=X^n+X^{3s}+X^{2s}+X^s+1\] are both reducible. For a generalization of this result see [\textit{A. W. Bluher}, Finite Fields Appl. 12, No. 1, 128--138 (2006; Zbl 1105.11040)].
